What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)?
AEP’s are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise prescriptions. AEP’s are specifically educated and trained to prescribe suitable and safe exercise to help with injuries, chronic pain, chronic disease, weight maintenance, osteoarthritis and more. In addition they can assist at a higher capacity level with return to sport, sports performance or general strength and movement improvements.
What to expect from your AEP consultation. Screening Interview: A critical step to asses your current physical ability, medical conditions and any risks prior to programming. This is a requirement for most private health funds, medicare referrals and group class attendance.
Physical Assessment: Includes cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, balance and any other relevant medical screening required. Advice / Education /Programming: We then provide individual support to meet your personal heath, exercise and movement goals.
